If you were my 53 year old grandmother, what perfume would you like?
ByIm 17 years old by the way but money isn't a problem. Im choosing between this or a spa treatment (I live in nyc). But I just wanted to know which of these perfumes would be most appropriate for her. I am aware some of these perfumes are over $200 but I want to give the best and I can afford it:
Bond No. 9 New York Bryant Park
CHANEL Chance Eau Fraîche
Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia
Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Marc Jacobs
Prada Parfums Infusion d'Iris
Chloé Eau de Parfum
Dior Diorissimo
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue
Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise
Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower
Ralph Lauren Notorious
Which are definite no-no's? As in not appropriate for her. And which should i narrow it down to? Im also bringing her out to a restaurant with my little brother and sister as well. Also, which would you like, spa treatment or perfume?
I would ask my parents but they don't talk to my grandmother ever since they had a fight with her.
Well i asked my grandmother and she preferred the spa treatment but just in case you still want perfume, i searched every perfume on your list:
Bond No. 9 New York Bryant Park: this one might be too sweet smelling because it includes pink pepper, raspberry, rose, and other strong substances.
CHANEL Chance Eau Fraîche: this fragrance could be a good selection for your grandmother. It isn't too strong. It has a cool floral scent. It supposedly smells the best when it dies down (smells like vanilla).
Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia: this timeless, luxurious, and elegant fragrance would be an excellent choice. It got really good ratings. It has the scent of the actual flowers in nature.
Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Marc Jacobs: this one depends. If your grandmother is serious, then she won't like it. If she is more playful, then she'll love it. The sephora website gave an excellent description: “Enter the world of Daisy: fresh and feminine, with a playful innocence. At the heart of Daisy is a floral with vintage edge: violet. Sophisticated, with a touch of whimsy, violet captures the eclectic, vintage flavor of Marc Jacobs' feminine, edgy designs. Always elegant, always enchanting – but not too serious – Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet, spirited and fresh, wrapped in comfort and warmth.”
Prada Parfums Infusion d'Iris: this perfume might be a little too old lady. It contains hints of mandarin orange and iris. Its scent strength is moderate, it lasts 6-10 hours, its recommended use is casual, and its categorized for mature people.
Chloé Eau de Parfum: this fragrance got A LOT of bad reviews. To many people said it was something you have to get used to and was a VERY distinct and feminine.
Dior Diorissimo: this one got 4 ½ out of 5 stars. It is described as refreshing, flowery, romantic, tender, and carefree.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue: like the prada infusion perfume, this might be too “old lady” for a 53-year-old mostly because of the granny smith apple scent.
Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise: this one got 3 ½ out of 5 stars. Its a blend of tropical wetness, zesty freshness and a burst of floralcy. This one might be too young but the bottle is REALLY cool.
Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower: VERY STRONG but exquisite scent. A few people said that if you spray it directly out of the bottle, then people around you will gasp for air. Haha.
Ralph Lauren Notorious: i dont think this one would be suitable for a 53-year-old. It may be colorless and sparkling but it's known for its addictive and sensual scent.
***OVERALL:
#1= Daisy Marc Jacobs (depending on personality and attitude)
#2= Dior Diorissimo
#3= Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia
#4= CHANEL Chance Eau Fraîche

A 53 year old grandmother? Gosh, I'm younger than you and my mom is 53. Anyway, I really recommend Chloe Eau de Parfum. It smells great in a subtle way and isn't too 'young' or overpowering.

My Mom liked Channel 9 or 15
others could be a bit too young.
Of course it depends if your grandma likes a fruit scent vs a woodsy scent.. those musky scents are terrible.
You really need to take her to the place that sells it because perfumes can test out different on differnet people. Like you spray it on and 2 minutes later it might not be that wonderful and 5 minutes later its down right horrible.

I would get her "happy" by clinique. My 60 year old grandmothner loves it! Shes been using that perfume for about 4 years now. It smells really good and it's about 50-70 dollars a bottle, but it's totally worth it. One bottle lasts her about 2 years and she wears it everyday. Hope I helped.
*The spa treatment would be nice, but the perfume would last longer*

Most grandmothers will like anything you give them. Spa or perfume would be very nice. Try to think of the type of perfumes she currently wears. Does she seem to wear sweet scented? Does she like a light scented? Ask your mom or aunt what she likes. I don't really think it matters though. She'll probably love anything you give her.

Anything by Elizabeth Taylor.
I would definitely like the spa treatment. I would be able to pick out the perfume I wanted the most by myself, and my back would probably be hurting so spa treatment.

Talk to her and try to get a hint of what she might like. Every women is different in her preferences.
I'd prefer a spa treatment but then I hardly wear perfume. My mum who happens to be 53 has always liked Eau de Toilette.
If you are in doubt, leave it out. Buy her something you know she will like.

Bond No. 9 New York Bryant Park > Deff no too sweet young smell
CHANEL Chance Eau Fraîche > Good for 30-40 age, could be sharp senseing
Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia > fades away too quickly, so no
Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Marc Jacobs > young age market 18-24, so no
Prada Parfums Infusion d'Iris > fades away quickly
Chloé Eau de Parfum > classic and good smelling for 40s age market
Dior Diorissimo > Good as well sexy and good memory small for 40-50s target
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue > young age market,no
Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise > no
Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower > supposebly unisexy smelling
Ralph Lauren Notorious > no has bad rating
———————————–
So overall pick:
CHANEL Chance Eau Fraîche > 3
Chloé Eau de Parfum > 2
Dior Diorissimo > 1st I'd pick this one ( has best rating for older females)
