Rush by Gucci: Perfume/Fragrance Review

Note: “Poppers” is slang for amyl nitrite, an inhalant that’s used medically for heart problems, but also recreationally for its (short-lived) euphoric high. It has a really distinctive odor, a cross between fruity chlorine and sweaty socks. Another slang for amyl nitrite is “rush”, hence…the name of the perfume that smells a bit like poppers.

"A morass" of sweaty socks, fruit punch and drugs. Hmmm..strangely…I won't be picking this one up. But I am grateful that you spared me that uncomfortable moment in the store when I would take a great big whiff and exclaim "The Blob!". Wonderful vid, thanks!

Poppers is the nickname for amyl nitrite, also known as "locker room" or "rush" – which gives you a clue to the smell and the effect. Poppers are an inhalant that gives a blast of euphoria and is also a muscle relaxant. And they have a weird bleachy old banana/fruit punch smell.

@flexiplnt I can't … @flexiplnt I can't wear fumes I associate too strongly with other people – it takes away that self-expression element from the fragrance for me. And it's the same with scents that I associate with other times in my life, whether good or bad. I enjoy smelling them, but it's too much of a time machine effect to actually wear them again.
