Do you think cartier perfume for women (glass cylindrical bottle with silver top) smells good or bad? I get mixed answers from people telling me it smells awesome to "it smells like what a Grandma would wear." What does it smell like then?!?

Smell is the most personal thing to woman (We pick guys by their smell). Each of us has a very strong opinion about what smells good or not (this is why God had to create so many different types of Guys) … when we put perfume on ourselves, we select what we enjoy so that we can attract men who also subconsciously enjoy the smell too.

I've never been a fan of unisex smells … I think that you want to smell like a woman or a man … and this unisex smell is just laziness.

Cartier markets this as "Transparency for Spring Water" which sounds great … but again my preference is aromas that smell like cotton candy and flowers.

Has anyone used Cartier "Eau de Cartier"?

I smelled it at Sephora the other day and absolutely LOVE it–question is–Does it last long or does it fade quickly? Is it worth the $85.00 a bottle? I'm debating purchasing that or Marc Jacobs Perfume. I know the Marc Jacobs is worth the money, but will the Cartier last as long???

It smells soo good and it does smell for the whole day maybe the next day.

I would like to know how people end up being perfume makers, cheese tasters and wine tasters – professionally. It is very hard to find such job descriptions on internet. Do they just discover their natural talent and contact places like Cartier? Thanks in advance!

she gets the nicest presents for her friends and wraps them so nicely with big and small boxes with ribbons and and everything. so i want to get her a bunch of a perfumes in boxes on top of each other, so one perfume in each box. she has a lot of perfumes from many brands like CK, chanel, ralph lauren, gucci etc, but she doesn’t have any from this store that she likes the smell of. so i’m getting her abercrombie and fitch perfumes called 41, classic, 8 and and big 200ml cartier perfume. so thats four in total, is that too many perfumes, should i get her only a few and get her some other stuff. please ladies help me, i really like her and she’s the sweetest person ever i want to give her a nice gift.

I think it is a wonderful gift. I don’t know about most girls but jewelry seems like a thoughtless gift to me, I would not get her anything like that unless it is something you know for sure she wants. It really sound like you have put alot of thought into this gift and have paid alot of attention to the things she likes, as thoughtful as you say she is I think she will like more that you have been paying so much attention to the small girl things she does than anything you buy her.

I have my outfit planned already from my previous question (thank you people who answered), but now I'm wondering which scent of perfume I should use? It doesn't matter the price…unless it's like cartier perfume which is like $2,000. =P

I have trouble choosing between Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and Fresh Sugar eau de Parfum. They both smell delicious and are both very subtle. Any ideas? You can choose one or suggest one, doesn't matter.
I like the Lacoste Touch of Pink, too. I might consider that.

Light Blue lasts much longer than Fresh, too. Fresh's scent lasts for about half an hour to an hour, but Light Blue lasts for maybe 2-3 hours.

well if you're outfits more on the fun side then maybe the D&G would go best with it
if your outfits more clean cut and simple use the fresh sugar

African American office women perfume preference?

During my daily commute by the subway I have noticed that almost all dressy African American office women who wear perfume is wearing some kind of fruity floral (a lot of times with vanilla notes), i.e. Cartier Delice or those Escada scents. Never have I come across an African American woman wearing something oriental like Dior Addict. Do black women find fruity florals more appealing because it is inherent in their culture or is it part of their genetics that they are more inclined to prefer fruity florals? I like it a lot and have a couple in my collection myself, but I also like a lot of scents from other categories.
This question is not meant to offend anyone, and if you find my observations incorrect please tell me so. I'm seriously interested in knowing the answer.
The reason why I'm asking is because I'm brainstorming for a project in molecular biology and that was one of the thoughts that came to mind. I love fragrances and I'm really interested in learning about scents and how we detect it. For example, like how men are less sensitive to body odors than women – some of their noses cannot sense it while most women can tell from a mile away. I just noticed that I have smelled a variety of fragrances in people of other races, but it seems like African American women are particular to a certain category. Perhaps downtown San Francisco is not a big enough sample pool to come to this assumption, but that is certainly what is the trend here.
And I apologize for singling out African Americans people for this example, but it is not meant to be a racist comment, just like how people of certain heredity are more likely to be able to taste thiourea or PTC while others can't.
I'm very sad that comment 1 has told me to "get a life"…true this may not be the most practical area of research, but there are people who study this stuff and it may unexpectedly come to good use. Just because it may sound like a waste of time to you does not mean you can go around and diss other people's interests.

I enjoy a variety of fragrances (Dior, RL Romance, and Blue to name a few) but not fruit scented perfume cause my allergies to flare up.
